Catastrophe of Epic Proportions

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a case of terrible hair. I couldn't figure it to look right. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and landed all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for work.
I arrived. My {boss|friend|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was pointless.
The rest of the day was an absolute nightmare. Everything. I couldn'tfocus.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors.
